Dr. Griffin is a NYS Licensed Psychologist and NYS Certified School Psychologist. Dr. Griffin received his bachelors and masters degrees in psychology and school psychology, respectively, from SUNY Buffalo, and his Ph.D. in school psychology from the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Griffin specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children through young adults using proven cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment therapy, interpersonal therapy, and family-systems approaches. Common referral concerns include college and young adult transitions, relationship problems, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, mood disorders, mild autism spectrum disorders, family/divorce stressors, and disruptive behavior disorders (e.g., ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder).
Dr. Griffin was has been in private practice since 2006, including practices at East Amherst Psychology Group from 2006-2011, Linden Oaks Therapy Offices from 2011-2015, Rochester Psychological Associates from 2015-2020, and a solo practice within Brighton Pediatrics from 2020 to 2024. Prior to 2011, Dr. Griffin had worked in public and private school settings as a school psychologist, group home director, and special education chairperson.
Dr. Griffin has raised three fun and kind young adults, and is enjoying their journey through their 20s while he spends more time playing guitar, reading, and enjoying music and the arts.
